Circling – Gavin-Birchall
Hear here…
Circling.
Circling a star the earth moves,
An incandescent axis for planetary taxis,
Orbiting ellipse into spacetime groves,
As the star spirals to a galactic end.
An earthly spin into a fresh sunrise,
On its own pivotal point it comes to anoint,
Irresistible self met with new eyes,
As you emerge again, again to begin.
This dawn will see death,
Of who you were before but are no more,
New life on the lips of your first breath,
Miraculous restart in the dead centre heart.
Make your sovereign claim,
For your right to rotate, to define your fate,
Around your own centre, in your own name,
Hold aloft the bright fire of life’s true flame.
The light that is cast is of rebirth,
Which is struggle and pain and half way to insane,
Relearn how to live on a shared earth,
Circling yourself, a planet, a star, an end.
