Glorious gaffs.

Each of us, everything.

Every Wednesday afternoon my computer is involved in an A-Level Spanish tutorial. Being neither tutor nor tutee I am gifted space in which anything can happen. Something always does.

One recent Wednesday afternoon the anything that did happen involved this lovely, old machine above, a table, a chair and a garden filled with dappled light. It has taken twenty years of what some might call neglect and I call allowing plants to grow, to help bring these dapples into being.

You can read the above if you like. Maybe you already have. I could put the words here in pixels but that seems to dishonour the tutorial, the space it creates and what emerged on the paper. Slowly, laboriously and messily. It is pretty inconvenient to read the image, especially on a phone screen, but I have a suspicion that convenience is not all that it seems. So, go with it.

If you’ve read the text, these four images might make more sense. This was a separate attempt at photographing the typed artefact produced during the space filled hour. It didn’t pan out as I’d thought. Another example of my inner idiot gleefully surfacing. Which is fine. Gently and warmly treat the inner self. One of our cats did what cats do and blissfully reminded me that the whole thing is in my imagination anyway. Just something to stand on. Although I also read it as feline endorsement of the message.

So there we are. Each of us, always, is everything. We can all be wise. We can all be idiotic. We are all perfectly flawed. I’m embracing my glorious gaffs. It is too stressful, tiring and not to mention unnecessary to pretend otherwise. I do my best and that is enough.

error: Ah, ah, ah. Ask nicley and lovely things might happen. Ta.
