We live in Ashton. A name from Old English. With æsc meaning “ash tree” and tūn meaning “settlement”.

Ash tree symbolism includes the protection of children. Together we have raised our two children here.

It also includes healing. Together we are healing from cancer and trauma here.

The tree of life and death in the Norse world, Yggdrasil, is an Ash tree. In every moment we are born and die here.

Now, at this time, when we are beginning to move on, the Autumn light in Ashton called me to learn about where we have spent these years and why. Illuminating that which has passed with bright understanding and wrapping memories in the warmth of knowing that we have been in the right place all along.
