Authentic leadership begins with the simplest and hardest of questions — Who am I, really, when I lead?

Authentic Leadership Coaching offers space to live into that question. It isn’t about learning a style or applying a model; it’s about uncovering the part of you that already knows how to lead with honesty, courage, and care. Within an Integral Development Coaching framework, we work with the whole of you — beliefs, emotions, values, body, relationships and spirit — because all of it leads.

what-why-how

Many leaders arrive when something starts to feel misaligned.

The strategies still work, but something underneath no longer fits. Others come when the world around them changes faster than their sense of self can keep pace. Together, we pause long enough to listen beneath the noise — to what’s true, what’s shifting, and what’s ready to be lived differently.

The process blends reflection and practice. We talk, notice patterns, and experiment with new ways of being in real situations. Integral frameworks act like a compass rather than a map: they help you see your inner world and its connection to the systems you lead. As awareness deepens, your leadership becomes less effortful and more natural — less about control, more about coherence.

Sessions unfold over several months, online or in person, sometimes complemented by half-day immersions or Walk & Talk sessions outdoors. Whether you lead a business, a creative team, or a community organisation, the approach adapts to your context and pace.

Clients often describe the effects as subtle but unmistakable. Confidence rooted in clarity rather than bravado. Relationships built on trust rather than role. Decisions made from values rather than fear. The changes ripple outward — teams become steadier, conversations more honest, results more sustainable.

Authentic Leadership Coaching is not about becoming someone else. It’s about becoming more yourself — steady enough to stand in uncertainty, open enough to listen, brave enough to act from what you truly believe. When leadership grows from authenticity, it becomes a form of service: clear, compassionate, and unmistakably human.

A lot of my coaching takes place online, through video calls that fit naturally into your life wherever you are. The distance doesn’t seem to matter — presence translates well through the screen. When geography allows, we sometimes meet in person for a longer half-day session.

These moments bring depth and stillness to the work, grounding what has been unfolding in conversation. Over a three-to-six-month coaching journey, this blend of online and face-to-face sessions offers the best of both worlds: the continuity of regular connection and the richness of shared time in the same space.

A two or three day group event offers space for teams of leaders to pause, reflect, and connect — with themselves, each other, and the work they share. Away from daily demands, conversation deepens and new perspectives emerge.

Guided sessions blend reflection, dialogue, and gentle structure, creating the conditions for real change and growth. Whether held in the countryside or a quiet venue close to home, the retreat environment allows time for rest as well as insight. People return to their work renewed, with clearer purpose, stronger relationships, and a shared sense of what truly matters.

walk-and-talk-coaching

Walk & talk coaching takes place outdoors, at living pace, where movement and conversation unfold together. Some journeys last a single day; others stretch across a season, with walks spaced weeks apart. For those drawn to deeper immersion, multi-day walks trace rivers, hills, and coastlines over several days, with evenings spent resting and reflecting.

Whartever form this kind of coaching takes, walking side by side brings clarity and calm. The rhythm of the path loosens what’s held tight, opens new perspectives, and reconnects you with yourself and the world around you — one step, one conversation, one landscape at a time.

What is Authentic Leadership Coaching?

It’s a form of Integral Development Coaching that helps you lead from who you really are. We explore the connection between your inner world — values, beliefs, emotions, and presence — and your outer world of relationships, decisions, and action. The aim isn’t to perform better by pretending, but to lead more naturally by being real.

Not at all. Authentic leadership isn’t about titles — it’s about influence, responsibility, and integrity. You might be leading a team, a project, a classroom, a family, or simply yourself through change. The work meets you wherever leadership is being called for.

Many coaching models focus on performance, behaviour, or strategy. Authentic Leadership Coaching looks deeper — at who you are when you lead, how you make sense of complexity, and what becomes possible when your actions and values align.

No. Some clients arrive with a clear challenge, such as a difficult transition or a team that’s lost its spark. Others come with a quieter question: How can I lead in a way that feels more like me? Either way, the work begins where you are.

We talk, reflect, and sometimes pause to notice what’s happening in real time — in your body, emotions, and thoughts. We might use simple frameworks or practices that help you see patterns and test new ways of responding. The process is conversational, experiential, and human.

Mostly online, though in-person or half-day sessions can be arranged where geography allows. Some clients also include Walk & Talk sessions outdoors to deepen reflection.

Usually between three and six months. That allows enough time for genuine change to take root and become part of how you live and lead.

Greater clarity, steadier confidence, deeper trust, and a renewed sense of purpose. Many leaders find they communicate more honestly, connect more easily, and experience less strain in the process of leading.

No. It can feel restorative, but it’s developmental rather than clinical. The focus is on awareness, growth, and applying insight to everyday leadership situations.

Integral development coaching. It’s a whole-person approach to coaching that includes everything you bring — thoughts, feelings, body, relationships, work, meaning. It’s called integral because nothing is left out. We explore what matters most to you, and together, discover new ways of being that bring clarity, ease, and fulfilment. Have a look here for more information.

It is important that an exchange of value is part of any coaching relationship. This kind of work, for you and me, is about exactly that, exchange. It is not about extraction as so much is today. The energy contributed by each of us should match. To that end I adopt a sliding scale of pricing to help meet your needs financially as well as developmentally. We discuss what price feels like a exchange that values us both. Get in touch if you would like to know some details and starting points.

We start with a short chemistry call to meet and talk about what’s happening in your world. There’s no obligation — just a conversation to see whether this way of working feels right for you.
